Can’t remember when was the last time I made a post about future goodies… Perhaps because none appealed to me so much or perhaps because I’m lazy 😛 . Moving forward… it’s not really big news since this was expected and was announced probably a month ago or even less, Sinanju arch enemy of Unicorn is finally getting it’s MG version, when I first saw the prototype pictures I was disappointed because there was a lot of things missing on the mech itself, now after seeing these latest pictures I’ve changed my mind and considering getting this baby.
Although it’s price is not very nice and appealing to some people, don’t know what is Bandai thinking about pricing this MG at 7000 yen, they’re doing the same thing they did with Sazabi, Strike Freedom full burst and Hi-Nu but when you have Unicorn you can’t leave him without a sparing partner can you ^_^
Now here’s something me and lots of more people are worrying about, those gold lines come already with the pieces or are some ugly katoki stickers? Really have no idea but since this is a 7000 yen kit I do hope those things come with it, otherwise it’ll be an instant fail.
The face is as amazing as Unicorn’s I’m really considering getting this baby alright.
An action pose, I hope Sinanju doesn’t come with the same leg system as Unicorn because you can barely pose it and always worrying that the legs will come off.
Big bad shield, just like Sazabi ^_^
Still don’t know what are those things attached to its back, probably some fuel or energy stuff, Hi-Nu has the same thing but have no idea what it is, if anyone knows please tell me ^^.
The box is just like the Unicorn but a bit more shiny.
Pictures courtesy of Moeyo, there are more to see there.
The tubes are fuel tanks. UC mobiles suits are not unlimited powered like some seed stuff, they need those to be able to travel further.
As for the gold trim, I’m sorry but they come black. Don’t know if they will release stickers or water slides or whatever, personally I will be painting them with some nice alclad gold.
I have seen the pictures with them in black but after seeing these I suppose they would come in gold because of the price. It wouldn’t make any sense paying 7000 yen for this kit if those things don’t come with it, just like difference of the two MG Strike Freedom
Well it is a big kit . It’s taller than the unicorn in destroy mode and it has a complex design, which means lots of parts, plus it’s red. All this factors in the price . Still we will have to wait and see what actually comes out of the production line. Either it has the parts painted or not I won’t miss it, since It’s one of the best looking designs ever .
that model kit looks beautiful and the detail is amazing. I like that it reminds me of sazabi
Ravhin : UC Mobile Suits are actually powered by ultra compact Minovsky particle Fusion Reactors. The fuel tanks are there to provide extra power. Seed Suits are actually battery powered save from those equipped with Nuclear Jammer cancelers like the Freedom or Justice.
Either way, even though it requires stickers for the gold emblems and chest lines, I so want it. Hope it’s worth 7000 though since it’s even more expensive here of course.
Amon: That’s all fine and dandy, but why are you directing it at me ? You actually forgot to say that even though they are powered by those reactors they still need propellant to fire their propulsion systems, and those tanks are there to get them more propellant to gain higher autonomy.
You distinctly said Seed suits had unlimited power or energy and that UC suits didn’t. If that’s not what you meant, chalk it up to faulty language because that’s what I understood from your post. In fact, it would be the other way around. Most Seed suits are limited to battery time but UC suits would not. As for propellant, not in the least. Most UC suits don’t have them, they use regular boosters to function. Not even most Gundams have them. Mobile Suits aren’t designed as long range machines, they’re short ranged strike craft.
Well I have to back up ravhin on this one, on the first comment he said that some Seed stuff had unlimited power, well it’s true at least for Freedom and Justice and some others, the propellants on the UC eventually run out after long use
Just as Belela-san said, that’s exactly what I meant. The seed suits using the n-jammer canceler can pretty much run forever. UC suits can’t. And even those that don’t have the tanks still use propellant as fuel for the rocket boosters they have.
You can confirm it in gundam offcial web site where it says ” propellant
The reaction mass used in the rocket engines of mobile suits and other spacecraft. When this propellant is discharged through the rocket nozzles, it creates a counter-force in the opposite direction, generating thrust. The amount of thrust depends on the exhaust velocity and the rate at which propellant mass is consumed, and since the former factor is subject to strict technological constraints, mobile suits must carry large quantities of propellant to sustain them throughout extended battles. Due to internal space limitations, some mobile suits carry additional propellant in external tanks.”
quote from http://www.gundamofficial.com/worlds/uc/background/glossary_technology.html#propellant
And yet most suits don’t use them. Regardless of this, it’s not the same thing as energy as UC suits basically also have infinite energy as long as their fusion reactors don’t shut down. We’re basically off key here. You’re referring to propellant but your wording made it seem that somehow Seed suits have limitless “energy” to run on which is of course not true and that UC suits were the reverse. Seed suits don’t use propellants in the same way because they don’t require them. It’s for deep space use, I’m assuming. With his in mind, most UC suits do have basically limitless power because they run on nuclear fusion, nearly limitless power. Obviously not the same thing as propellant, which can run out and is why suits like the Sazabi or Nu have reserves. Clarification is the key here, really.
Then let me phrase it again for you.
On my initial post I said I said seed suits have unlimited power, this of course is only true for the most notable of them but I assumed that anyone familiar with the series would understand that I when I said “some” seed stuff, I would be talking of those and not the general case. These suits in particular use nuclear engines and even if they can’t run forever with a tiny amount of fuel they can easily last for months ( our own space probes use nuclear batteries a much more limited form of electric generator compared to a mobile suit (theoretically) and they last decades). Of course this doesn’t account for how they generate thrust in their boosters, this is never mentioned in the series, which is mentioned is that suits like freedom and company can run almost without limits.
In UC case they use fusion reactors as the main engine which is basically a more efficient and “safe” nuclear reactor, but, those can only generate electricity, for generating thrust in the rocket boosters they need propellant to burn. The quote I posted before is quite clear on this (you can of course choose not to believe what a site maintained by Bandai says), saying that all suits carry propellant with some models carrying extra in external tanks, like the Sinanju here, to provide them with higher operating range and autonomy which is precisely what I said in the first post.
I honestly don’t quite understand your last post. For one you seem to be ignoring Belela-san and my last post where we already clarify that what I mention was only the nuclear powered suits and not all of them (the some bit in my first post). You also say that UC suits run forever but still need propellant? Don’t know why you assume it’s only needed for deep space though.
To sum things up both “some” seed suits and uc suits use nuclear reactors to power them the difference is that while nowhere in the seed series is ever mentioned if they use propellant or not we know for a fact that it is used in UC suits. Which means that these suits need propellant for any movement they make that requires a rocket booster and not their legs and arms.
Hi B-San
The sold out Sinanju from Neograde it was sold only with 2 dry decals for the fuel tanks, all others ornaments are molded in colour,
mainly in crimson but with golden ornaments on black parts all over its body.
I hope this Master Grade scheduled for December 2008 release, have the same finish quality, the price justify that very well…
and i really hope Jikai have them at time for Christmas, great gift don’t you agree?
Unfortunately “JMG” Sinanju won’t reach Jikai until January because it’s launch is schedule to December and it’ll most likely be in the second week of that month, plus, every item that is launched in Japan that Jikai can get only reaches the store one month after the launch, that’s how things have been working out there if I recall.
Even if he could get it before Christmas I wouldn’t buy it immediately, I want to see first what the guys of Hobby Japan will do with and I got some figures pre-ordered from him before and after Christmas, so I won’t get it anytime soon.
Ravhin : Like I said, we were simpy off key because of the wording. As for the assumption that it’s only required for deep space, I’d assume atmosphere maneuvering would be much different in requirements and require a much different type of fuel to function. Either way, I’m assuming we’re on key again after this. It’s just that your wording was a tad confusing for me.
As for the Sinanju, don’t count on it being available for Christmas. I was talking to him about a few things last week, including orders for that time period, and he said he would likely avoid ordering anything for that period because of customs and Christmas rushes. That and the conversion rates are horrible right now. He had to postpone a large order because of that too. I’m still waiting for my VF-25 because of that but no biggie anyway.
Yeah we know that he has that kind of problem, but it’s not only him, even the big european ones are with problems, my Chouun was launched in July~August but I only got her by the end of September because he didn’t want to get her early mostly because he wanted to make more money with the stuff he had on the store.
Normally I’m not worried about the time he takes to get and he knows it, otherwise I would turn to the Japanese stores instead, I’m only impatient when I know that my stuff was shipped to me and he takes forever to arrive because of custom services.
Boas,
XD
@ Rahvin & Amon
Don’t get technical issues spoil the fun on gunpla! Grab your airbrushes or spray cans, turn on some new-age music and chill! Or gaze at Sumeragi’s chest. Or something!
@Jumbo Machfinder God
Problem with Gunpla releases is that usually Bandai states a release month, and then about a month or so before it they’ll mention a date at their official site.
Now I could be really wrong, but if I remember correctly, Unicorn Gundam was released close to end of December. I believe the same should happen with MG Sinanju.
Technically speaking, I should be able to get them by mid-January but… right now I’m way too concerned with foreign currency exchange rates. We’re facing yen crosses with a 5-year low rates, and as things are now I would have to raise imports’ prices to levels that no customer would be willing to pay for (at least, based on the prices I’ve been practicing so far), and with little to no profit for me. And I don’t want to be labeled as a thief ^_^;
I hope better days to come.
@Nakano: Na lhe disse nada de especial, disse q não sabia quais os kits de 00 q tinhas na loja e q tu ias falar com ele por mail e tou a ver a q ainda não o fizeste, agora deixas o moço pendurado tsk tsk tsk…

At Ravhin and Amon:
Ooh, a Gundam technical debate. I love these.
You guys are both right, but things sometimes get confusing when switching between UC and Seed mobile suits.
Generator powered Gundams in Seed have a nearly unlimited combat time. We know they use the reactors to power their suits and beam weapons, but the series never explains how the energy is converted into thrust (probably something to do with Mirage Colloid Particles). The fact that generator powered Gundams in Seed can hover for indefinite times in the air and function just as well in atmospheric combat as in space, it should be assumed that their thrust is nearly as endless as their power supply and can function for prolonged times, only limited by the pilot.
UC mobile suits use similar generators that power the suit and close combat beam weapons (rifles and cannons are powered by replaceable e-pacs), but are more rooted in the ‘real robot’ genre. UC suits don’t have a mysterious means of propulsion, so they rely on rocket fuel. UC mobile suits can run for the same amount of time as Seed generator suits, but their ability to fly in atmospheric combat and speed up/slow down in space is more limited. UC suits are built for space combat, so they can’t fly on earth like in Seed, unless they have advanced Minovsky Craft Drives or dual use jet/rocket engines like Zeta Gundam and other mobile armors specially designed for atmospheric combat. That’s why there are rarely aerial battles on earth in UC series, unless they take place in lower gravity colony environments. As for space combat, the limited rocket fuel/propellant (which is used to power EVERY thruster on UC mobile suits and not just the external tanks: I believe that’s where the semantics created a misunderstanding before) is used up bit by bit every time the suit increases speed or changes course. UC suits function longer in combat than other conventional spacecraft because they can maneuver their arms and legs in order to orient themselves and change directions. For a regular spacecraft to do this, it has to use up propellant every time it moves and then the same amount of propellant to stop itself from moving. It’s real world stuff like this that Seed ignores, which pushes it more into the super robot genre.
all i see is ppl saying that seed sucks, why is that, best mech designs in all gundam series, worst is G gundam and 00 IMO why?? G Gundam is like gundam drangon ball lol and 00 gn drives and designs kills the show.
anyway back to the topic, i getting this baby gold or not who cares i gonna paint him in metalic red and yellow gold, inner frame in black or grey i dont know yet, what do you guys think is best
There are many reasons why Seed is not as good as the other series and mecha design is not the reason since no one criticizes the mechs because they’re well loved between mech fans. One of the reasons why Seed “sucks” is mostly because of its plot and character development. Seed was the first Gundam series I saw and I liked it, but after seeing the old ones like Stardust Memory, 08th MS Team, Zeta Gundam and lately Turn A I couldn’t care less about Seed. Main characters always crying out of nothing and many other things they did, not to mention Seed Destiny was the most awful Gundam series I saw, character stupidity reached its peak on those series.
the only series i watched are, seed, seed destiny, 00, gundam mobile suite, turn a, zeta and zz, g gundam, still have a a lot to see, right now i have to say my favorite serie is seed, and favorite mechs seed destiny, hate the story of destiny too, that final sucks so hard, and kira is shoot down and he dont die lololol yep that pushing too far, but i love those mechs specially the justice its my favorite gundam, man its like F the story those mechs are awesome.
