Well I still don’t have much experience in buying figures or gundam model kits at hobbysearch. I ordered in late 5 of April and amazingly they shipped my order in April 6th 0_0 (Tsugoi ^-^), it reached my country at April 10th but since that day it’s been in the custom services hands, so I’m hoping it’ll reach my house this weak since they only ship the merchandise via EMS (express mail system). My order was Saika Farnese from Pastel Chime (video game) the one I mentioned in Figures in my sight.
One of the reasons I ordered I ordered her at hobbysearch was not only because hlj.com was out of stock but because I was curious about their point system. After reading the FAQ I understood what do they mean by point system, it’s quite simple, each item may it be a figure, model kit whatever, has a number of points and you can accumulate those points in order to purchase another item but without spending so much money.
Example: this figure of Saika has 239 points and now I’m interested in Arisaka Kadsuki, she has 190 points. So if I have 239 after purchasing Saika then I have enough points to spend on this one ^^. In what would I benefit with this, well according to them, after spending the points I only have to pay for the transportation in this case the EMS where I would save a lot of money. These points are valid for one year after you made your first purchase, so if you purchased something in 15/5/2007 those points will last till 15/5/2008. Oh forgot to say the more expensive the item the more points you’ll get, but I think you’ve figured that out.
