Having fun once again in making promotional images of incoming and released figures. This time only made three and one was quite a while ago. For more info on the brushes click on the pictures.
You’ll notice some differences when you click the picture of Nanoha, I made some changes in adding the name and Alter’s label, but by doing that I moved Nanoha a bit too much and she got “out of sync” with the magic circle.
I expect getting these two figures next month but still haven’t made my order. Since I have Kan’U and Chou’un these two will complement them, specially Ryomou ^_^.
Kakouen Myousai is filled with energy, love the pose, probably one of the reasons of my interest in her.
It takes me quite a bit of time making a picture like this, most of that time is spent in cutting the edges of the figures (about an hour of cutting) which is quite annoying because the pictures are small and with only a mouse it’s pretty much a pain in the butt. I wonder if a graphics tablet would make the difference?!

Nice stuff!! That looks very official! You totally could pass it off as official product shots!
In terms of cutting, I can tell you that using a tablet doesn’t make that much of a difference in terms of efficiency. You get the choice of using a polygon lasso tool, or you paint it out using a mask, which seems to take up about the same amount of time.
Looks great, though I’m curious as to why you’re doing this…
Secrets
Haha, some sort of secret huh? Are you part of some marketing company that would make stuff like this xD.
Excellent Work!
Jikai can be more than happy to know you I assume ^^
waw very nice artwork, are u a graphic designer?
No, just have some knowledge using photoshop that’s all
this figure will have serious bending issues in the future
It might have or not. I’ve seen figures which should have lots of stability problems, and seen some where many would believe she would start to bend any time soon and doesn’t, even after some years (Ilya swimsuit for example).
This is pretty late, but better than never I suppose (I just found your blog, haha). A graphics tablet *might* help, but it still requires a lot of patience. For me, it feels easier on the hand. However, I use mine for drawing purposes rather than cutting, and I can see it still needing a lot of work. The best reason would be to save your hand some sanity, haha (plus they’re just fun to have).
These images really are great, if you’re not already working for an advertising company, maybe you should get into it! Lol. The last one (Myousai?) really caught my attention, because of the way you used two different angles of the picture… it looks like a super planned out illustration! The other two are great as well, but I just wanted to point out the alternation as a great choice.
Keep up the great blogs!
