There’s a legend that when someone holds the sister swords “黄泉乃夢” (red katana) and “蒼乃癒鬼” (blue katana) their soul transforms into one of a warrior and only stops when its enemies have fallen. The swords were found by a young school girl named Akatsuki Mishiro at the city woods, wondering why someone would abandon such beautiful swords in a forest she immediately took them home without saying a word to anyone. That night while everyone was resting her house was “invaded” by a group of thieves, in order to protect her mother she grabbed the swords and faced the thieves, unfortunately not knowing how to use a sword and afraid of removing them from the scabbard she was easily beaten. Attempting to remove the swords from Mishiro one of the thieves removed the scabbard of 蒼乃癒鬼 and the soul of the warrior transformed Mishiro and instead of the protecting feeling, anger, rage and hate became her new feelings, she then withdrew the other katana and killed the thieves. Horrified by what she had done she vowed to never use the swords again until she had complete control over them.
Akatsuki Mishiro is the first figure of the Shuraki line by Good Smile and the only one I have from that line XD. Never got around in getting the others mostly because of their price and the lack of space even though they have a Shunya designed one and I’m such a Shunya fan boy which means I must get her someday.
The details on this figure are amazing, she’s not detailed like the rest of the Shuraki line but for her price it’s pretty damn good.
This picture turned out really nice the way I see it, don’t know about you.
Received a couple mails asking how do I make my pictures so vivid with color and what camera I’m using. Well I usually say that an expensive camera doesn’t necessarily takes good pictures in the days of today, you can take really nice pictures with a compact camera instead of a DSLR, of course a more powerful camera always helps, but the real magic happens with photo editing programs like Adobe Lightroom, Elements or Apple Aperture. Since my last post I’ve been using Adobe Lightroom to edit my pictures reducing the noise and increasing its colors, you can do much more, just search for tutorials on the web or simply visit George Jardine (photographer) blog.
These ones were heavily tweaked with Lightroom, I increased the blacks just to see how it would turn out and I like the effect.
After a battle it is normal for the clothes to get ripped XD.
I wonder why I keep taking taking upward pictures.
These ripped clothes pictures were taken in later afternoon, I tried to capture the dark yellow of the sun but it seems I can’t do it like I did with Wing 0 and the days have become so hot so I was afraid she would meltdown ^^;
This one came out weird the way we look at her hair.
Oh I see bo… bo… you know those things… eyes dammit.
Hum I think I took this one on a studio…oh wait it was pointing at the sky XD.
Another behind pantsu shot ^^; I’ll be killed someday by these gals if I keep taking these shots.
Possibly the most deadly technique a girl can use while fighting a guy, just stripped yourself and stay with only your underwear, no man can survive that he would die with an ultimate nosebleed unless he was gay.
Some of these latest pictures came out to bright because the sun was really strong and since I didn’t want to wait for the sun to go down a bit more I had to take them.
Two more blue background shots, why doesn’t our sky has more colors, it sure would be fun.
These last ones were taken at 9pm or 21:00 you choose.
You’re probably bored with so many pictures, so I’m going and before I go I leave with the original picture that probably came with the book of this figure but I can’t remember, anyway I took the picture from Valho’s blog because I’m lazy to scan one of my own. For more pictures of the Shuraki line figures visit Valho’s, Windbell, Shino, Radiant, DannyChoo and there’s probably more around there. So I’m bugging out now.
Edit: Here’s a small video I made with some pictures. High quality video at if you view it at youtube.

I like the first 9pm shot. She feels cold out there with only pantsu ^^;
this one is my fav

I have to say you have lovely skies, even though I’m not a person that enjoys daylight since my brain tends to shut down in sunlight ^^;
The pic with the weirded out hair is pretty funny “My, what BIG hair you have! o.O” Heh. I really like the lightroom stuff you do as well, never had a chance to play much with it and not much chance to use it these days. Maybe some day ;P
I personally liked Akatsuki the most out of them all and it’s great that you’re liking her, though I suspect you’d prefer Nida *ahem*. Hopefully you’ll be able to get your hands on Nida one day, I’m sure you’ll enjoy her immensely =)
Nice pictures you got there, congrats.
nice one
especially the fifth picture, good angle ^^b
love the outdoor pictures, I’m still waiting for my akatsuki to arrive, should be this week
LOVE THE PICTURES!!!!!!
I always plan to get this series, but it’s soooo expensive here!!!!!
I’ll get them when I’m in Japan!!!!!!
I so want that figure!!!!!!
o.O so.. many…. pantsu shots ^_^
Great pics though, I like the way you captured her pose in them (if that made any sense)
Awesome pics !
and i’m so jealous about your sky , and the view
gray sky and houses for me :’(
Love her backstory, though I love the panty shots even more wwww
I actually love the one with weirded out hair. It looks like she’s got short hair and the wind is blowing. Very dynamic.
Your skies always seem very lovely. Do you get weather like that all the time?
The undie pics make her look like she’s sunbathing.
BTW, she can stand without needing those two bloody stands on her feet.
@lsio: I like that shot you chose as well ^_^
@shino: Yes Akatsuki is really nice but I still prefer Nida
@dudley: Thx.
@ron~: Outdoor pics are great, but “studio” ones are nice as well, perhaps because magazines can pick them up from you XD.
@rin: Well Akatsuki is the cheapest of all Shurakis the others are way expensive, in Japan they’re cheaper because of $/Y difference.
@domino: Well you can see her pantsu from almost any pose ^^
@james: It’s the bonus of living here XD.
@shin: Still need to change some things like putting the name of the swords of romaji.
@randiant: Yeah her pose is very dynamic. Well in southern Portugal we get this kind of weather almost all year apart from the days that rain or cloudy days but yeah its almost always like this, when I stay too long without making photo posts it means that the weather sucks a lot XD. I know she can stand without the base but it was windy and I was afraid she’d fall of the balcony.
nice shots. i love the blue sky. the sky still looks pretty bright even at 9pm. over here it gets dark at 7pm.
Love the pantsu shots under the sun. Awesome.
I like a blend between the blue sky and flowers. Nice. ^^d
the detail on the blue sword is beautiful
would you like to exchange blog links?
Sure thing otaku dan
Wow what a lovely sky! Too bad that weather here sucks 80% of the time.
The 5th pic is my favorite out of the whole bunch!I guess its the pantsu-factor^^
Im going to check out the tutorial you posted there.Just got Adobe elements in my mail a few days ago and theres still a ton to learn
huba huba, i love the flower shoots especially! your sky shots amaze me; you really have nice skies over at your place ^^
Can you tell me which anime or manga is it?? please
@miriam: There’s no manga nor anime about the Shuraki series only drama audio CDs
