This is probably old news but since I haven’t posted anything nor do I have any new photo shoots of my new figures because it has been cloudy lately and haven’t had much time for it, anyway, Kotobukiya launched last year some action bases for model kits may them be Gundams or mechs from Super Robot Wars but these bases can “only” be used for models below the 1/100 scale, if you want your 1/100 model kit to fit the base in terms of hight you have to add a new top. Kotobukiya will launch more bases this year with almost the same price of the previous ones, the first ones are round ¥1000 and the new ones ¥1200.
The following pictures were taken from A2 Crafts and you can see how well the gundams fit in these bases.
I’d like to get some of these but since space is something I’m lacking theres no way I’m going to purchase this.

Looks nice, add a nice touch to the Gundam. But with the consideration to space it takes and all
.
the base looks awesome. will be great for a photoshoot. ^^
hoo, masive base, looks awesome. You need to buy that thing hehe
so that base only cost 1200 yen? :O
I got 4, but they aren’t nearly as intricate as those 4 stacked up mechanical chainbase on the picture. however it looks like it’s moded to hold the AEUG MK-II launchpad on top of it. ^^;
The base looks awesome!!! I would get it to put my Gundams in there. Would be cool if I start a gundam photo shoot!!!
these are great for dios no doubt. hmm maybe I’ll get a couple.
@lanie-emon: yeah they take a lot of space, thats why I won’t be buying any of this.
@ron~: I’m guessing these ones hes using might be one of the new ones but again it might be the first ones I don’t know XD. What I see here is four bases, because now base is this big in terms of length and hight so he’s using two more for putting it higher and one to increase its length.
@marvin: yes marvin, he definitely is using two normal bases and other two to increase its hight. Hes bases look better because he most likely painted them. Oh and thats not the AEUG MK-II, thats the Titans version XD.
old news or not, that’s freakin’ cool. I love how it just gives a perfect sense of scale to these gundams! Putting Gundams on a display shelf make it so diminitive, so this really works!
I got 2 of this for my GP03, actually would need another 2 more to make it look nicer. Yeah they really takes up a lot of space
WOW! photos like this gives inspiration to gunpla newbies like me
im currently trying out how to paint a gundam kit, im posting my progress in my blog… im doing the HG wing gundam zero custom…
any tips on how to paint the pilot figures included in MG kits? they are so small like this ones on the photo…
Well I’m going to tell what I think most people do. The only possible way I see to paint those pilots is with a very thin brush, other way its almost impossible the way I see it.
yes i guess paint brush thin tip… if ever i get to do it i’ll post it for all to see, but definitely seems impossible but would be a challenge! that i like
additional info/tips about this would be of great help
You can always not paint them, and digitally add color later
But yeah thin brushes and and a magnifying glass are pretty much the only way to paint such small figures.
